To start, I am not a Rufai fan nor apologist.
In some forum where I have had cause to talk about the race to Aso rock come 2011, I put Nuhu Ribadu and El-Rufai as some of the leading lights for an improved Nigeria.
Of the two, Ribadu easily gets my nod. Both can and may not be extricated from the perpetrated evils of the OBJ administration but they are the lesser evils to contend with.
Rufai's seemingly double-speak that subtly promoted the elongation of the reins of OBJ will NOT be forgotten. Yet I say that other allegations against him on misappropriation on allocation of Abuja properties are 'spurious'. Till date, the Senate's only grouse against him was that he (Rufai) acted as FCT Minister beyond 16th May, 2007 which was the supposed handover date. On that, I say that another FEC meeting on 23rd of May 2007, indicated that OBJ allowed key Minsters (of which Rufai was one) to work till the 29th when they all handover.
That said, Rufai is yet to absolve himself following the abysmal performance of the OBJ economic think tank that played key roles in privatization and subsequently the malaise and rot that transpired in all PHCN transactions and contracts. It may be silent. EFCC may not have quizzed you on that, but Rufai has questions to answer in this regard.
Back to the back and forths between Aare and Rufai. If you (Aare) used ''uncouth'' word on Rufai's page, he will not be doing wrong if he blocked you. I remember that Femi-Fani Kayode also blocked me from his wall about 3 months ago for saying the truth and been within reasonable politeness. No surprise here though as both (Rufai and FFK) were seen as attack-dogs of OBJ. If they are not open to fair criticism, they do not deserve any political/administrative positions.
Finally to you Aare, I know your works and I know how I am also drawn by passion to use 'uncouth' words as some have said. In all, I have learnt to tamper my words (hopefully) so that my fight can continue.
