Interior Decoration/colors Question

hey yall..ok,am not really an expert with interior decorations.but am thinking of designing my apartment esp. my bathroom nicely (myself).The colors i had in mind for the bathrm were pink/peach and a tinge of brown .(towels,shower curtains,bathmats,etc)
but then pple said pink didnt go well in bathrms

so now am considering blk and gold bcos i got this beautiful blk and gold shower curtain,trash can and napkin holder,etc.wat do yall think-plus my wall is cream and appliances are chrome. not to forget i hardly see blk bathmats in the stores.i dont want it shouting color riot,yet i want something unique and classy

..help me out,pls..thx

black is a bit harsh for bathrooms or rooms in general, plus unless you have tons of space in your bathroom the color will dwarf the room.
I like the original color scheme you were thinking of... but how about instead of a brown, you think of a lighter shade like sand and ecru with warm peachs and light mango shades perhaps

...u should go with the colours that you are most comfortable with...cos you're the one that going to be livin' there. you don't want to live in a place where u're not comfortable with the colours, but you picked them just cos someone else thought it was better...
