Default Getting the sleek salon look at home.

Putting rollers in my hair at home just results in a big dry frizzy hair. What I'm doing wrong. Don't wanna have to go to a salon when all I need is just a wash. How do u get the nice sleek look at home?

Using curling iron is preferable for black hair. Also use a straigtening setting lotion as you are styling your hair. It comes out smooth. African Pride has a Very Nice Leave-In Tonic that works really good on my hair. Bone Strait Setting Lotion is also very good.

dont drown ure hair in conditioners....esp leave in.

use a flat iron...instead of rollers. dont use a curlin iron if ure not dat good. flat iron's d way 2 go. i know im better with it dan with a curln iron. when i had hair i used d flat iron maself. if u want d bouncy look...u need a professional flat iron..not dat HOTCOLD brand. get d smaller ones....dat way if u str8'en it..w/out curvin d end..it'll curl a lil @ d end givin it dat professional look. when u blow dry..use a brush...not a comb. when u condition...LEAVE IT UNDER A CAP for a while...and stay under d dryer.

I totally agree...also @pebbles, try not to grease it so much when you do flat iron, so that you can get that feathery look

first of all wash your hair everyweek or aleast every two weeks. cut split ends every 4 to six weeks. put a relaxer in your hair every 4 to 6 weeks. After you wash or relax your hair, set your hair with setting lotion. When hair is dry take out rollers, grease hair between roller parts and then wrap your hair. cover your hair with a satin scarf or do rag. The next day un wrap...should be silky like the salon....wrap hair everynight..until next wash and repeat routine again. Sitting under the dryer after setting your hair makes the hair hold tighter. condition hair every two weeks.

curling irons are terrible for the hair. The more heat you put to your hair will get you split ends. The best setting lotions i have used on people is Lotta Body and Black and Sassy
