Hmm..
Ask him why he didn't call. If he gives you some bs excuse, then put him on your low priority list, and start cutting ties slowly. He's the one that has to work at getting things back to what they were before, the ball is in his court. If he doesn't come around by all means let the dude kick rocks.
And don't let the appeal of competition make him more appealing though. When it runs out, you realize the person you're competing over isn't really all that. Don't let a guy put you in a spot where you have to work harder than him to keep the relationship going.
