Cyril's story:

Ok. Here I am right now. Sitting on the table with Betty right across from me. She said she wanted to talk. My mindset is already made up. This is it.
I guess I am jumping into conclusions. Honestly, it's been something I've been waiting for. Maybe I could leave and not ask questions now without her hearing the story. My story.
It all starts from just three month. She's been really acting weird towards me, at first she was really really hostile towards everything I said, then she calmed, then she didn't talk to me for a while, and then back to small talk, and then finally she flipped out about me using her car and not telling her.
"How the fuck do you drive all the way to Sainsbury and you don't fill up the tank back?"
"What? Ok. I'd fill it up tomorrow morning when I take it out..."
"Take what out? You ain't taking shit nowhere. And you know what? I don't appreciate all this bullshit you've been doing"
I kept quiet. Did not say a word, then she stomped into the kitchen
"I don't understand how you can claim to be a man and be using your woman's car" I still kept quiet. Trying to figure out when she will shut up so I can get the keys and go find somewhere that late in the night to fill up my tank.
"I don't understand how you can't hold your own ground and you call yourself a man, I don't get it. You can't even hold yourself in bed. We've not fucked in two months Cyril"
"WE'VE NOT FUCKED BECAUSE EACH TIME I TOUCH YOU YOU ACT LIKE A RABID BITCH". I stopped after my response. I said too much. She got me. Her face turned pale. Her eyes reddened and swelled up.
"Get out Cyril. GET OUT!"

I left the house. I left my house. I couldn't drive my car. It was broken down for a while. I almost cried that night. I lost my job. Was frustrated I couldn't find one. Just stood there counting my misfortunes. Outside in the dry cold. Is this the woman I wanted to spend my life with? I couldn't even understand her or get used to her. This is the woman I wanted to spend my life with. Would this what I'd have got if I did marry her? I was confused. But I couldn't think much. I had to act.

I called up my friend Mark. He always had my back when I needed it. He picked me up and moved me into his guest room. He was the luckier one. The rich one with the subservient wife. She would do anything for him as long as he brought in the money to buy her gold necklaces and bracelets. Mark and I sat down there

"Well..." Mark said after hearing my story "It might be time for you to get your feet on the ground. I have tried to help you out but it seems you are not in my line of business and I suggest you not. It's too dangerous. What I would say is you need to get your feet on the ground"
"Whatever." I replied "I know you're into distribution. And you know I don't care for the drug game anyway"

"Haha! You've always been a goody two shoes Cycy" laughed Mark drinking the rest of his scotch. Mark kept stirring the ice in the glass tumbler "You know, you don't have to spend your time trying to be so good. Sometimes you can get your hands dirty, and maybe you can win her back with the money I'd filter to you"

"Howso?"
"Well, you don't have to be in the trade, see I trust you with my life. These other fucks I don't. How about I give you a job as my brains."
"I'm confused"
"Well, you'd be the contact person on my behalf to some people I would like to do business with. You can use your fancy MBA for some business negotiations. Ha! You would even get paid better. Just talking and negotiating. I'd do the dirty work, I'd be your back."

I looked into the empty plate of food in front of me. Wondering if it was a good move. I've always trusted Mark all my life. We grew up together since boarding school in JSS1. I called him Marker Marky. He called me Cycy (pronounced Sisi. I hated that). His deal sounded ok. As long as I was not in the dirty work. He wouldn't say what he didn't mean.

"Ok, that's fine"
"Good. I'd move you into one of my apartments. Give you a payoff every month. Take care of your car and all that. You'd be covered. It's been a long time Cycy. I wondered when you were coming around"
"Na condition de bend crayfish"
"Shonuff"
