Culture Clash

the ade-ada situations

the one where a relationship has hit a roadblock because of the difference in culture

be it religion, raceor what not

one of my homeboys just had to break up with his girl.
she was indian/hindi
he's a white boy/catholic.

there was a huge strain in their relationship with her sneaking off to see her man because her parents didn't approve and she didn't want anyone knowing about the relationship.

a friend of mine couldn't go ahead and marry man she was dating because she went home with the man and because his family was from somewhere, they said no.

What's your view on this? Do you think it's important that two people within the same culture should be together? I know a lot of nigerian girls who wouldn't date outside nigerian men. Do you think people should be open to date whatever culture they want? How much should the disparity of cultures play inb a relationship? How much clout should parents play in a relationship, moreso if their displeasure is in the fact that both of you are from diff cultures? Do you know any experiences/have been in experiences that have shaped your view one way or the other?

I think culture is easier to adapt than religion. Everyone tends to think their religion is the best 'if you loved me like you say you do you would convert'

It's better (cant find the right word) if you get together with someone of the same religion,culture etc.makes life easier.
