"So Samuel said:
“Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
As in obeying the voice of the LORD?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed than the fat of rams (1 Sam 15:22)."

Civilization has been a set trap by the Devil to disobeying the commandments of God. You'll hear some people saying about the commandments of God," Those are primitive ideas-it would have been counted as ok back in the days but in this age and time, it is considered stupidity." No more regards and fear for the Most High anymore. This generation wants to enjoy Abraham's blessings (divine health, protection, peace, prosperity and so on) but they done want to follow the protocol-obedience. Sin has become a normal way of life: to a majority, it is considered as inevitable. What a pity! The devil has succeeded in blindfolding the minds of people (2 Corinthians 4 :4).
The Word of God is God. The Word of God is His will and His will is His commandment. Each time you disobey His commandments, you are rubbishing God. You are telling Him that He has no right to be God over you. God's commandment is not optional, it is mandatory! You may not like it but you must obey. God asked Abraham to sacrifice Issac-he didn't like it but he obeyed. Abraham's willingness to sacrifice Isaac demonstrated his love for God .Abraham would've sacrificed Issac,if God had not stopped him at the altar of sacrifice (Gen 22:1-15). It takes loving God to obey His Word -disobeying God is hating Him. The penalty for disobedience is too high to pay. The penalty is death. It is a great sin to disobey God: no wonder the bible says," the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) . Adam and Eve had a good story to tell:they didn't see death in their bodies but in their spirits-God turned His back on them. Can you and I withstand not having his covering over us? We sleep and awake because He keeps our existence (Pslam 3:5, 4:8).Can we stand His wrath against us? The Egyptians who died in the Red Sea saw His wrath because of their disobedience (Exodus 14: 21:30). For three days and three nights Jonah languished inside the fish's belly ( Jonah 1:1-17) You are stuck in the pit because of your disobedience - you can't run away from His commandments. Gehazi carried Leprosy because he rejected the commandment of God through the mouth of Prophet Elisha (2 Kings 5:26-27). It is deadly to reject God's commandment. Mary the mother of Jesus knew the secret behind obedience. It is not a suprise that she told Jesus' disciples, 'Whatever He says to you, do it' (John 2: 3-10). It is high time you got into His Word to seek out His commandments. The great men in the bible obeyed His commandments with fear. God won't change because of you and I-He still holds on to what He had required many years ago from us. It is written in Hebrews 13:8,

" Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. "

Many months ago, I twisted His Word to soothe me. I thought I could fool God but I didn't know that I was delaying my blessing. God didn't change His commandments because of my incompetence and foolishness. Obedience is the master key to the fulfillment of a destiny. God is always ready for us: the ball is in our court.

Glory to God!
