so I wanna wear it for my grad. party right.. something like this:

but my mom was like "you can't wear that.. all these Nigerian women here will be like 'ehn! who does this girl think she is?'"....

like is gele reserved for only married women or what?

no its not, anybody can wear gele jare! Although traditionally there are supposed to be different tying "schemes" for younger and older women. But nobody follows them anymore
