Never Been in Love

I thought It was real, the first time, the one year ordeal (make-up/break-up)...It's just now that I've realized that all the "relationships" from my past hurt but were never love though then I felt they were. All the feelings of happiness together, sleepless nights talking to him, etc...all those things were so idunno...fake??? Now, I realize that I never really put my heart out there for any guy...was just saying/doing stuffs to feel big and matured and grown...

Well, recently life has really been teaching me about love.I'm grateful to God that it was my ego and not heart that broke. The heart's still intact. What would I do with a broken heart; and I was going about thinking I was emotionally broken...

I know many people feel broken emotionally because of their past experiences, but could it be just shame they're feeling that things did not work out as they'd liked??? I'm glad that because those were not wise choices for me.

I've made peace with the past and I'm using my new found freedom ( from self-pity) to wisely navigate through any future relationship.

I really wish more people will evaluate if what they called love is actually that....self-pity is not a good foundation for future relationships.
