The Future.
Our Kids.
The youngsters need guidance,
they need security,
they need stability,
they need support,
they need esteem.
They need teachers who care,
parents who will always be there,
a place to sleep,
nutritious food to eat,
clothes and shoes,
books new or used.
They must read and be read too.
They must learn academics as well as things which are not taught in school.
Teachers ignore the signs and parents are consumed by time so the television takes over their responsibilities.
Our children need personal care.
Someone to hug them and whisper i love you into their small ears.
But many of our kids are abandoned and neglected, beaten and molested,
underfeed and improperly dressed.
Some are being kidnapped and kilt,
thrown away and displaced,
lied to and disowned,
left to riot alone, while battling a world insensitive to their needs.
Children are being brought to their knees not in prayer but in plead
they are begging us to help
that child does not have to be your sibling or relative.
The youth belongs to us all and without a community of help they are bound to fall.
