I have a question... or two.

tryna create backup for files; music and pictures... and I put everything into a folder, now im trying to compress it...

do I compress as rar, or zip and wat do i do next??

right click and send to a zip file

then drag unto your back-up location ( i.e external HD or flash drive)

oooh and i just tried zipping it, but said it was too large so i had to "rar" it??? good or bad?

It really doesn't matter how u save it. It's easier to do zip...it's more compatible.

How are u saving it in zip?

i rightclicked the folder and clicked on compress to rar... it gave me the option to compress as a rar or zip. tried the zip but says file was too large i shd use rar.. dats wat im using now... waiting for it to be done

Dateline: May 11, 2008, winzip isnt relevant anymore, winrar does zip and rar, and does better compression.

waht is the size?....instead, upload it to sendspace and mail the link to the receiver.

ok, ok,....if u want forever type, open a rapidshare account, you will need to split the file into chunks of 100MB and then u can upload those....no host will take that much file at once from anyone...except u have a level 6 pass
