Quench not the Spirit

(1 Thessalonians 5:19 KJV) Quench not the Spirit.


Your understanding of the personality of the Holy Spirit is essential in your walk as a Christian. You must realize that He is a person with a peculiar personality. His personality is so sensitive that you have to consciously make sure you do not stop Him from doing what the Father has sent Him to accomplish in your life.

He will not force Himself on you but rather He will work with you based on what you allow Him to do. There are certain attitudes that help the manifestations of the Spirit in your life. On the other hand, there are negative attitudes that will cause the Holy Spirit to withdraw from you.

The Bible makes it clear that you please God by faith. Since the Holy Spirit is part of the Godhead, you can only please Him by faith. Each time you speak or act in line with God's Word which is actually the source of faith, the Holy Spirit goes into operation.

You can also make sure that the Holy Spirit is not hindered by walking in the love of God. This kind of love is unconditional. It is the type of love that Jesus demonstrated by laying down His life for all of us. Make up your mind that you will do whatever encourages the Holy Spirit to fulfill His will in your life.

MY DAILY CONFESSION

I am a new creation in Christ Jesus. I am the temple of the Holy Spirit. I keep God's temple holy and God is always pleased with me.

The Spirit of Him that raised Jesus Christ from the dead dwells in me. I am quickened from within. My body and soul are full of God's life as a result of the working of the Spirit on my inside.

Greater is He that lives within me than the one that lives in the world. I can do all things through the Spirit of God that strengthens me.

I have an anointing from the Holy One and I know all things. The Spirit of God that lives on my inside teaches me all things about life.

I have been adopted as a Son into the kingdom and I am always led by the Spirit of God. His divine power has given me all things that pertain to life and godliness.

I am never confused in life because the Spirit of God leads and guides me. God has not given the spirit of fear but that of love, sound mind, and power.
