We dont need to defend behavior that is uncivilized if we feel it is uncivilized. if something is barbaric, then it is barbaric regardless of who does it. when i see a bunch of white people strip down to their birth suits and plunge into freezing water in the middle of winter, I not only call it barbaric; I say its crazy too.

Im saying dont be embarrased when u see africans or any indiginous people jumping round half naked, paying dowry of 100 cows for a wife.. or practicing their traditional customs..you have no right to call them barbaric or backwards.. cause you are lucky enough to have a passport.. and there is a difference between practicing your culture and development.

If i see something i consider uncivilized, i will call it uncivilized regardless of who does it, I wont defend something that should have been phased out eons ago because it is "our culture". There is a difference between people saying that certain cultural practices are backwards, and certain cultures themselves are backwards. My cousin who just arrived from Nigeria had the nerve to tell me that the British brought the Igbo "civilization." :frustated
