question for the christians here: y'all really think this world will come to an end?

I was watching the discovery channel last night, and the guy that wrote the book of revelations was mad at the Roman emperor for persecuting the early church of Christ. so all the references about the beast with seven heads was a shot at the seven ceasers that has ruled Rome... 666 is something about Gaius Ceaser's favorite number or some shit...

so my question is do you believe that one day horses will be coming from heaven with balls of fire and the beast will come too?

or Bush = the Beast
and Obama = dude on the horse?

yes i believe it will come to an end one day..

even those that believe in evolution..be there would be an explosion on earth in some years to come.

I personally believe all that ie 666 and references in revelation was code that was used to deliver the letter to christians back in those days cuz they were being persecuted.

Chances are:

An asteroid will do earth like "deep impact" or
The Sun will supernova and melt earth or
The expansion of the universe will eventually bring earth to extremely low temperatures, and then eventually disintegrate it or...

The possible means are many, but there is one certainty: Planet Earth will not exist forever. The important questions then become: will the loss of the Earth matter to humans and/or their descendants? Will we still exist by that time? Will we have gone extinct? If not, will we still be dependent and marooned on the Earth? etc.

In short, it boils down to this: Will our extinction be our own fault, or will we manage to survive until factors beyond our control finally consume us?
