on and off

My distant fam is in an on and off type thing...apparently her bf was cheating her...she backed away and called it off...but 2 months later they started talking and got together again...this has been the same cycle (maybe for diff reasons) for their relationship in the past 2-3 years...

Now speaking in general, are such type things alright? Would u stick in one like that because hey, we got our good times and bad times like any other couple or would u steadily and slowly back away from the relationship and completely dip coz u know, too much stress?

Yeah its possible. Sometimes it is not that easy to break some one offf- particularly when the good times are really good! You also don't know what you might find out there -he/she could be worse so you stick with the devil you know rather than the devil you don't know.

Every couple is different- sometimes it is pride that keeps people from getting back together when they know they should be together. On the otherhand, time heals-and when you don't give yourself time to get over someone, the door for them to come back is always open. I think that is what is going with your friends above.

If everytime they are splitting because He is doin something---there is definatley something wrong. I feel the relationship should have balance--sure we all make our mistakes...but if it one-sided, they should make efforts in resolving the issue or realize maybe they just are not meant to be.
