That I'd like to share with y'all...please understand why I'm doing this.

I'm not trying to come across as some overt and zealous Christian, because I am not. I am no more than anyone else...I am not trying to come across as holy or anything of that sort. What I just want to share is my personal thought, and my personal opinion. You might choose not to agree...I respect that. I hesitate on expressing myself, so please don't make me think otherwise...I am determined to do this so please, give me a moment of your time. I'm not trying to be a Facebook Jehovah's Witness either lol

Today I ran across these words "He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD."

Now like any of you, I have heard this a million and one times before...Sunday School, Church, TV etc. In fact I do make jokes about it all the time...but today it stroke a new meaning to me and a new relevance to life.

Today, we all are struggling for one thing or the other in this world we live in....we really don't realize how superficial some of these things are. They may seem necessary but they are really not. We all seek money to enjoy life and pay the bills...we all seek a companion...we all seek education to get both (a job that pays the bills and the nice boy/girl to bring back home to mum...especially my Nigerian ladies who work so hard to get their MRS. degree)...but what happens in the case of a lay-off? Or what happens in the case of a divorce or the death of a loved one...what do you have left?

All in all, these things I highlight that we seek are all linked to us having a peace of mind...a peace of mind we have a shoulder to lean on, a peace of mind that no matter what happens, it won't be above us financially...peace of mind that no matter what corporation I walk into, I can walk in and get the job without thinking twice.

But essentially, they are all superficial...Katrina left thousands without jobs, homeless, and left some grieving. The economy right now is sending hundreds of white-collar workers away with pink slips and living off unemployment benefits...there's no peace of mind in their hearts.

But I have realized there's one stable source of peace,just now it struck me why so many times how he mentioned "Peace be with you"...so from that you'd guess I mean Jesus huh? Well yes...you are right.

Now don't cut me here...I know myself and I know I've not found that peace of mind I'm talking about...but because one hasn't found it, doesn't mean it's not there...I know it's there...I just don't know how to get it. That is my personal problem, my friends, my family, I and God would sort that out and would help me find it.

But this one is for you, I hope you do realize it, and I hope you do realize that there's more to the abuse of drugs, sex and alcohol among other things that would convince you or give you the optical illusion that your mind is settled...because in reality, when you think about it, hopefully before you get to that down-point in life...you will realize there's more to life than having money in your pocket or numbers in your phone book or what you consider now as a safe job.

I just felt like putting it out there...my opinion...I hope you do find your peace of mind through Jesus Christ as I am struggling to do today.

PS, I should conclude this note with a passage that's stuck to my head...I can't just remember where or what it is verbatim because I am not such a deep Christian (if I dare call myself that). But it's along the lines of trusting God completely and everything else in the world comes after.

so bros, if you are born again, you already have peace...the bible says that for the fruit of the spirit are love, joy, PEACE, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (Galations 5:22-23). If you are born again, then you have the spirit of God living inside you. and if you have the spirit of God living inside you, and you truly believe that, then from this verse, there is nothing that can stop you from experiencing all these (...against such, there is no law) except if you don't believe and walk by faith, because the Spirit works by faith.

so, just keep it in your head, and meditate on the fact that as a born again christian, you already have peace...you do not go looking for it, because you already have it, regardless of what may be happening in your life.

4Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
