Salam alykum waramutullillahi wa barakatu,
Hello NR ummha, how is everybody doing, I hope all is well. So this idea came to me and I want to propose it to see how everybody feels PLEASE READ THE WHOLE INITIATIVE, TAKE THE POLL AND THEN PM ME... THANK YOUproposal: What I was thinking is that we have a weekly Ta’alim, a Ta’alim is a discussion on different topics on Islam. Vision: To create an medium were ALL NR muslims can discuss pertinent issues on faith in a comfortable arena. From my personal experience it may be difficult for some to have an open arena for frank discussions and discourse, thus I want to facilitate this by having this sort of “town meeting” on a weekly basis so everyone can join and discuss whatever topics they want. goals: Facilitate an atmosphere for frank and Open discussion on anything relating to Islam. Basically anything goes ,(with some reservation of course) but essentially the goal here is to discuss anything and everything in a atmosphere that is comfortable and inclusive of all muslims at different levels of faith and iman. To gain as well as disseminate knowledge Maximum participation from all of NR’s Muslim members Inclusion of all members regardless of their level of deen and iman MOST IMPORTANTLY: to facilitate discussions that will ultimately lead to strengthening of the deen and Iman of all of NR’s muslim members . The hows: The most important aspect of this initiative is to ensure maximum support and participation from all of NR’s muslims. To facilitate this, it is impetrative that everyone is involved. To ensure involvement, all participants are encouraged to PM me ideas of topics they would like to discuss. This way all members are included. Once the topics have been organized, each member will get a chance to present their topic. This ensures that there will be diverse discussions on different topics as well as different perspectives.(if there are topics that are iffy occasional polls will be held to see if members want to discuss it). The format: *members interested in participating will pm me topic ideas(hopefully this will be every muslim NR member) * Every Sunday I will introduce the topic as well as the host of the discussion: the member who suggested the topic * We have a week to discuss/post replies(questions, advice and general discourse of the topic). *the next week we do the same thing again with a different host and topic. Example topics: 1)The impact of western society on the practice of islam(difficulties and challenges faced by muslim young adults in a western society…ways to overcome these challenges) 2)The meaning of Shaada…what every muslim should know, the dissection and analysis of what it means to say Shaadathe very essence of what it means to be a muslim. 3)What is faith(Iman) and how to strengthen it. 4)Applying the Quran to our daily life’s the hows and whys. 5)Controversial issues in islam 6) Salat: the anchor of iman, how to strengthen and obstacles we face that may prevent it 7) To spice things up I might post a lecture clip and we may discuss it. 8) Any other contemporary issues that you may think off 9)Anything else you can think off or have questions about /anything you wish to discuss???? Miscellaneous: Like I stated before this is very free, fluid discussion; however I will still encourage those who are knowledgeable to strengthen our discussions with references to hadiths and hayas in the quran so that we may all benefit. As mentioned this is open to anybody and everybody and is inclusive no matter what level of deen or iman Though this is a relaxed medium for discussion, it essential that participating members adhere to a certain level of decency and respect . Please pm if you are interested Please pm me with topic ideas Please pm on ways to improve this initiative I WOULD REALLY LOVE TO SEE EVERY MUSLIM ON NR PARTICIPATE IN THIS SO THAT WE ME ALL BENEFIT FROM EACH OTHER: REMEMBER THIS IS A SUNNAH!!!!! Thank you Jazakallah Kairun Your sister Shayo4real….
