[These are just characters, most based on real life...I'd try not to reflect my opinion on these situations, I just want to see what y'all think.]

I'm the normal guy looking for a woman...nothing new. There's a certain girl I like. I met her a few times because we are in the same class and I think she's a smart girl I'd love to date. My only problem is her friends. They wait for her outside class everytime so I barely have time to talk to her immediately after. Her friends are always with her, on campus, in a party...everywhere. And honestly, I don't like her friends because let's say they have less than noble characters.

My mother always taught me "Show me your friends and I'd show you who you are"...are these her friends a reflection of a character of hers that I've not seen yet?

Not necessarily. There's always the likely possibility of that one good girl who hangs with the wrong crowd without necessarily getting sucked into their ways. You won't know for sure until you get the opportunity to get closer to her...which, unfortunately enough for you, seems unlikely at the moment.

You could try to approach her at the start of class and sit next to her, and take it from there. You should probably also ponder whether or not she gives you the impression that she might be welcoming of any advances on your part.

What kind of a guy is a normal guy?

There are traits that must have led you to "liking" her and from that lil slip-in (mother/friends), u may just be the type that throws away what they can possibly have bcos of others.

Know what you like/need, get ya game and go for it.
