I am going to have to order this video, its remarkable regardless of the debates about the research.

it is called Exodus Decoded was shown on the history channel. The place where something similar happened is Lake Nyos in Cameroon.

During the time of the wrath of God, besides the Nile turning blood red, the Egyptian statues were toppled and there was a hail of ice and fire. Locusts swarmed the place and there was darkness among other things. The explanation offered is that Egypt is located in a region filled with fault lines. The rift between the African and Asian plates go under Santorini. The gas released by the earthquake caused the Nile to turn red and the same phenomenon was seen in Lake Nyos in Cameroon in 1984. The ash from the Santorini explosion caused the skies to turn dark.

While most of these plagues can be explained due to natural phenomena, the one most difficult to explain is the death of every first born Egyptian child one night. The documentary offers an explanation for this as well. It was the night of the first passover and all the Israelites were awake and celebrating it. The Egyptians slept at that time. In Egyptian society, the first born male had special privileges and slept in a low bed which was close to the ground, while most adults slept in the roof tops. The Carbon di-Oxide which rose due to the seismic activity fogged the land and affected the people who were sleeping low to the ground, which was the first born male children of Egypt. The same incident happened in Lake Nyos as well.

assuming all first borns were asleep at that time and assuming all of the first borns were sleeping on the lower bed alone and hence also assuming that all of the firstborns were old enough to sleep on the bed by themselves (so no toddlers being cuddled by their mums, etcetera)...and this is obviously assuming that all the egyptians dwelt on a flat terrain. cos if it was slopey, the base of a peak is the same as the top of a trough (if you get my point)...all that's assuming plenty if you ask me.

Thats all good and dandy, but how these events were not mentioned by anyone else but the Hebrews? If 10 events of that nature happened in sequential order, I'm sure more people in the entire area would have been effected right?

At least it was mentioned somewhere right? we are still waiting for u to show us a single written mentioning of the so-called greatest plairgerism of all times (stealing persons and creating ilusionary characters- David, Moses,Solomon,Yashua and Muhammed), by the victims, the Egyptians, who we all know were literate and never shy to write.

Hopefully something they wrote in protest, complaint or mockery of this so-called plagiarism will be found so I can read its translation while we are still on NR

Plagerism was something common at that time, so why would anyone complain about it?

how amazing it is that folks are working real hard to disrepute the bible, knowing that the Isrealites lived not far from them and all these phenomenon did not occur at their own end. oh well...

The Bible is not really that hard to "disrepute", it does a good job of it by itself. And if you actually knew any history outside of what you learned in Bible school, you wouldn't make such an elemenatary statement. LOL!

so why are you trying sooo hard to disrepute the bible? why dont you face whatever it is you believe and run with it. you know what your problem is? you are looking for fulfilment is some way, and if you could read the bible without prejudice, it surely will lead you somewhere. peace.

Like I said before, I don't have to even try...muchless try hard. And its so ironic that someone who probably worships the Bible and has probably never questioned it in their life is saying that someone else is looking for fulfilment. Maybe if more people actually used their brains , rather than bowing down to ancient books like every word of them is true, the world would not be the diaster it is now.

LMAO! Your statement makes no sense at all. I, unlike you, do not in any way worship any historical books or archeological evidence. I accept that it was written from the point of view of the winner, and most importantly, because I was not there, it may have some parts of it that are untrue. However, I do realize that some aspects of it have some truth in it, especially when they are in harmony with the accounts of other people from that time and/or archeological evidence that has been tested.

You on the other hand, blindly and sheepishly accept a scriptural document that is not even in harmony with itself as history, and probably do not know a damn thing about it other then what your pastor told you in Sunday School. Had you lived 500 years ago, you probably would have been arguing that the Earth was at the center of the Universe because your church and your Bible said it was...LOL!
