This is a very unusual proverb but from what I can gather, it's a proverb about Wisdom.

d story is abt some villagers that wanted 2 kill a dude except if he can tell which is heavier, igba (calabash) or awo (dish). and of course like everybody would, he chose awo (dish). he was wrong bc d questioner was refering to wet calabash (igba tutu) which is definitely heavier and not dry one.

so d moral is let d speaker clearify hinself b4 u crucify/bash him for what he said bc u might completely misunderstood him.
