Tips on how to wrap hair

I can't wrap my hair to save my life my hair dresser is so mad at me....I can't blame her sha.....but why can't i do it......why is it so difficult...I mean i spend so much on my hair just to mess up the next day

I have a ponytail now...I want to wear it for atleast 2 wks.....is it possible?

I used to be like you till I became a broke grad student. Tell her to show you how to do it. That's how I learned how to do mine. I still have to use pins to hold mine before I tie it though.

Do you mean like a wrap set or wrap your head with a headtie.

I wrap my hair everytime I wash it, so that it dries straight without me needing to blowdry. I wet it with leave in conditioner (Lustrasilk) , part in the middle, and then wrap in a cirular motion around my scalp. The tricky part is the middle.....it never gets flat. Other than that I tie a silk scarf on my head everynight before I sleep. It keeps my hair neat, and silky.

I wrap my hair before i go to bed.
I normally have a parting, starting from the left side of my ear to the right side. Once this is done you have two halves. Then i start from the lower half on the right hand side then comb it forward in a circular motion. Once you get to the front, still come it round until everything smoothens out. If your hair isn't long enough you can use some pins.

After hair is secured, use a SATIN SCARF, so that the moisture in the hair is retained.

For the ponytail, use a hair net (appropriate length) for the ponytail only. Then use a satin scarf to tie the front so that it stays flat and smooth.

I don tire jo...did my hair on Firday and now my ponytail is looking like 3wk hair-do

I usu. wrap my hair in sections.................take a small bit at a time...............it helps that way.

Like someone said, ask your hairstylist to show you how to....................that might make it easier for you.

i cant wrap my hair too and i tried d silk scarf..it came off

Same here for me....i cant use the silk scarf..cos i go sleep for lagos go find the scarf the next morning for kaduna...

but really though....some of us do not have responsive hair like that. it took me two hours to fix my hair this morning and it still looks like i just rolled out of bed.
thank God i have an appointment to get it back in braids again.

For the ladies who complain of the silk scarf coming off, what type of scarf is it???

The one I use looks like a man's dorag(sp??)...................so it actually stays when you tie it.................

I can't imagine how I ever survived w/o wrapping my hair b/c these days, if I fall asleep without wrapping the hair...................mehn, the next day, my hair is full of tangles..................I won't be able to comb it out

My hairdresser showed me but still..n i have the scarf like the one u mentioned n it still comes off

u have to be patient when do it, as u wrap it, comb it to d side u r wrapping it, comb it forward and keep doin it till u get its all wrapped up. I used to be like dat, was never patient. once i do my hair its 4 dat day, next day if am passing by my hairdresser i hide so she doesn't see me. Its all abt beign patient & trying again when it doesn't work. D middle is usually tricky, just tie it and then from the knot, move it in d same direction as d wrap holding d scarf down in d process...so it get better into shape. Its a trick my hairdresser taught me, it makes d wrap better.

Tanx Lefty...I am pissed right now...i got home last night n washed my hair....dried n oiled...then tried to wrap the shege......i don't know but gosh i couldn't get the top to stay flat n not fly back up my facen i just pulled hair back tied with rubber band n tied with scaff which i found on the floor this morning

I am cutting my hair come june or sooner n i noticed that my hair is cutting like no tomorrow

^^ next time don't dry it completely before you wrap it, makes it more malleable.
