WOW.. congratulations all.

Hawtie and Nappy--yours were simply outstanding.. with English translations to boot!

Chickram--I loved how you masterfully wove that song into your piece. Totally fit for the scenario you picked. That was simply a stroke of pure genius.

Sophie and Wendy--lol, you two deserve a pat on the back(?) for nurturing the thread. Keep up the good work.

Tomapep--hey, i think you may have underestimated your ability. Good job--trust me, all you need to do is draw up something with a few lines longer, and i bet you, no one will agree with your very first post in this thread.

I love the idea that one can give the translations...as u can see, with the English translations, we can appreciate different dialects better! I will try to write in Igbo Izugbe (Central Igbo) however.

Arichenna/Arinze: Oga, u no fit compose something in your local Kwale with the English translation? You no want make we follow appreciate your language or shebi u no fit write am? Just checking oo!

At that moment, Ichie Omenuko’s stick was heard in the distance approaching the Igwe’s obi. A visibly agitated Ozo Nzeakolam sprang to his feet and starts addressing the approaching man.

As Ichie Nsofor, a man well past his 105^th birthday rises slowly to talk, the Ekwe and the Oja could be heard in the distance rhythmically perforating the stillness of the night. Either the young men of Umuezem had seen and heard what happened with Umuezem’s young damsels and were gearing up for battle as they made their way to the Igwe’s compound or dibia Nwokoye was tracing his way to the palace….

Really? Delta Igbo? Was all of that Delta Igbo or a mixture of different Igbo besides Delta? because I understood pretty well without having to read the English translations much. Only occasionally did I read the English translations.

Well, well... ihe m guru di mma so far. M gaara inye unu aka, kama Igbo m adichaghi otu m cho ka o di. Achoro m so much inye contribution nke m, dee akuko ntakiri, kama m ka na amu Igbo.

Anyway, Unu emeela na ihe unu na-eme. Unu akwusila, biko. Ihe a na di mu mma.
