I Am an activist
A revolutionary cause I aint having shit
Labeled a trouble maker cause I spoke against injustice
In their eyes, I'm one step from a terrorist
In mine, they're one above tyranny
In reality, I'm just one step above being silent
Cause I opened my lips, now I'm a hater of peace
As long as they get to feed their kids
With the contents of what they steal from me
Who cares if mine die or live
thier worth is non existant in the black skin
So I speak out and don't stop speaking
That's the reason, the powers that be
Would like to see me lynched
Claiming I preach treason, blashemy or heresy
Let them have their pick
Maybe a combination of all three
The root word of activist is to be active
Therefore I willingly give to recieve
I give my soul, my being in order to be truly free
to fly with unhindered wings...and better yet when they are not clipped
Deemed a societal misfit....when all I wish is equality
Know what? Damn equality...all I want is a chance to suceed...to achieve
To live....and if through death...then so be it....
Call me what you will.....but that is what I AM
