The Nigerian population is almost equally divided between the christians and the muslims although there are still a few that believe in 'juju' as it is commonly called.
Take a walk down any street in Nigeria and I assure you that you will come across a church or a mosque if not more than one. On any friday in Nigeria, muslims gather all over Nigeria for their jumat prayers and on sundays, the christians gather in church. If there is anything that I have found to be quite common in Nigeria relating to religious beliefs, it is the desire for a 'quick miracle'. Nigerians are not very patient with God when they need something. In the movies for example, if a woman is unable to bear a child after some years in marriage, there is a high chance she will be visiting a pastor, an alfa, or a juju priest for some sort of assistance. And in most cases, these men of God ask for some money and give some 'divine revelation'. The same thing applies to other problems such as illness, poverty, etc. I would like to know your stance on an issue like this. If you've had a problem for a while that has not been resolved and the problem is out of your control, is there a possibility that you might seek assistance from a preacher or a juju priest.
