Just wondering. Wanted to know if it is worth my money or not. Any experiences? I heard it works but then I've heard it breaks the hair, things happen with the straightener, and etc.

steam is no good for us. you use the heat and straighten it, the steam will only revert it back. use a ceramic thing... flat iron.

i'm natural, and anything water based curls my hair back. all the gels and oils i use and conditioners dont have water in them. and i try not to use oils too much, and my hair pretty much adjusted. i use this silicone anti friz from redkin then press my hair with the ceramic flat iron. if i MUST. try to find out if the people recomending it have natural hair. b/c i KNOW for sure. water is no good. even when my shower steams, it reverts back.

i told her! ceramic is da best. but try to get ceramic ionizing or whatever its called. it really lets you straighten yoru hair FLAT!!! and it seems to stay longer and not BURN you hair.... i mean my hair. and seems the more i use it over time, the bigger my curls/kinks get and the easier it is to comb through. or it couls also be b/c of the length of my hair too. lol i dont know

I have it, u can get it way cheaper than that, bed, bath and beyond sold theirs for like $55 last yr. I only use mine when I'm stretching my relaxer, and might be 9weeks post and want to wear my hair down. Its way better than pressing, for those who press, I know many naturals who use it in addition to those with relaxers.
I threw away my ceramic flat iron almost 2yrs ago but maxiglide is definitely a keeper. Its safer and more convenient that using a pressing comb if u are already doing that

I have the set. Makes your hair straight def but it gets too hot. It damaged my hair a little bit. I'm thinking of selling mine on Ebay. I hate the fact that you can't have any product in your hair before using it. It feels too bulky for me. I still can't figure out how to make curls with it so I end up having to use a curling iron after using it.

I guess the thing would be I wouldnt recommend it if your hair isnt at least shoulder length straigthened. I use a 4 setting when I use it, and I use heat protectant on my hair before using it. There's also the miniglide which is a smaller version of the maxiglide.
