Post some pictures after you're done, if you don't mind. I don't think I've ever had it. There's a Cuban dish I've had/made before with mashed sweet plantains that they call "fufu" (it's a bit different from our fufu and is closer to a porridge), but I don't think it's the same thing you're talking about.
