No sleep with wide eyes

Beyond those in rags, looming in shaded corners
Hawking on the street with no visible wares
Beyond those in inviting red and black attires
With their cat-like whispers and sleepy stares

Beyond those in small rented squared walls
Furnished with bed and pile of sweaty sheets
In activated dimness in pool of looming colours
Amidst the suffocating perfumed sweaty odours

Alashewo ti gba ijoba
Ani Ashewo ti gba ijoba

Beyond those on the communicating medium
Whispering the act quietly into your eardrum
Exploiting your imagination with lustful image
Surviving on wired connections for patronage

Ma wo bi omo ye se ju bara

Beyond those playing on your emotions for destruction
Beyond those accepting your rings to access your assets
Beyond those that put love and money in close association
Beyond those sharing your beds to attain fame in tales

Invented job of shame in shamelessness
Tainting our streets, media, homes and lives

Can I venture to say another identity of one's self.

It has slowly crept for what has seemed, an era.

For it holds nothing else but an agonizing nuisance.

Bombarding my thoughts
not even to a dear friend
ashamed at what I had done
apprehensively accepting the invitation

not grasping how he & I could be
not even in my dreams
had he been a close friend it might have been understandable
but a simple an acquaintance
that rocked my world

As we met the night after
I couldn’t look him in the eye
Guilty around my lover
Would he know what I had done
It was so sweet just one more would help let go

I needed a fix & that only he could fix

you don't make me laugh anymore


you used to be my funny man
all manic and exciting
now excitement has turned to fear
and fear is soon to become loathing

you used to be the one
all sweet kisses and fumbling fingers
now lovebites have become bruises
and love has become agony

you used to be a lovable lush
all slurred confessions and lusty words
now sweetness has turned to rage
and admiration has become pity

you used to tell me i was the one
all glassy eyed and pillow lipped
now faith has turned to despair
and mine has become hers

you used to drink for one
all sophistication and literary talk
now one has turned to ten
and wine has become malt liquor

and now all you

is the drink

Inside a lover man
Sitting depressed in shock and awe
disgusted by my behavior to the one that i love
This is not me, I have never done such before
What have i done?Dear God help.
I love her with all my heart, i swear i do
I'm mad at myself for what i put her through
I'm depressed because she may decide we're through.

In my mind i am sick and ashamed
In my mind i'm alone and lost.
With blood running through my veins
I feel hate for myself.
I punch myself in the face,
trying to convince myself
to see it as just a phase.
A phase? No, No No, there is no excuse for what i have done to her.
My Muscles and Manly strength
overshadow her fragile frame
Gawd she shouldn't have kissed that nigga, she shouldn't have.
But she has to forgive me, she knows i love her
It will not happen again,she has to understand.
I am nothing without her. She is the reason i dream.
Without her, all i have is vain
How could i have done this to the mother of my baby
This is not me i have never done this before
I feel locked up, they won't let me reach her
Dr. pephowpy says its obsession and i need therapy
He might be right, but all i need is my wife back
Without her, i'll never get my life back.
