I GOT LINUX RUNNING AND GRUB AS MY BOOT LOADED AND MY WINDOWS JUST CRASHED....**SHOWING ME THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH** I CAN ONLY GET INTO WINDOWS FROM SAFE MODE,WHEN I TRY TO DO A REPAIR WHEN BOOTING WITH WIN XP CD THE REPAIR DOESN'T SEE THE WINDOWS PARTITION COS GRUB IS THE LOADER AND KINDA MASKS IT.IT VEXING MAN....ANYONE WIT ANY SMART IDEAS ,COS I DON'T WANT TO FORMAT AND WILL ONLY DO THAT AS A LAST RESPORT

1. did u just install linux or have things been working for you and then suddenly windows starts crashing?
2. You mentioned using grub as loader - what sector the cylinder is linux installed on - past the 1024 cylinder (8GB)? what is your boot order? Hopefully grub did not overwrite your window partition's MBR,otherwise windows will not boot w/o a boot disk Last edited by djmightymike; 12-20-2006 at 05:49 PM.. |
