Damn the terrorists!
Should I be scared or pissed?
I don't know if you've heard of this,
but they've slowed the airports down.
Damn the terrorists!
Either we let them in the air or kiss
fast air trips goodbye
as fear grips you and I
because they might strike again.
That voice is on the mic again
telling us no liquids.
I'm telling you I'm sick with
these restrictions
and prescriptions
to avoid evictions
by gung-ho air marshalls
who, for fear of being partial
will search whites
and blacks twice
but barely give the arab a look
though he looks like the description
of the last suicide crook.
Instead, toddlers get told to strip,
and ladies too old to grip
a box cutter are cuffed for giving lip.
Nursing mothers taking sips
of breast milk before boarding.
It's the only drink that can be brought in
the "security area",
Secure for the caterers
who can charge you two limbs
because you can't bring your food in.
And God help you if you're flying Southwest!
Because hungry is all you're about to get,
along with nuts and soda
unless you go over
to that airport stand
and spend thirty-four grand
on a sandwich
