PAL vs NTSC

I was wondering what the difference is between these 2 systems. I was thinking of shipping the PS 3 to my brother in jand but I get the yankee version. Does anyone kno if it is possible to convert it to british specs..either with a chip or those socket converters?

You might not even need to get one. Most tvs these days have multi-system support

actually no sorry. the NTSC ps3 won't play PAL discs. Unless u mod it. I'm not sure hw possible that is right nw tho
