LAPTOP RECOMMENDATIONS

any,pls? I want a mac so badly but i hear mac isnt compatible with many programs.btw,dell and hp are out of the equation...anything else would be considered.thx!

Ibm Thinkpads are somewhat expensive...but dang near bulletproof

The T60 for more business oriented needs.

The Z61t...weighs under 5lbs or the Z61m roughly about 6.5lbs...the more multimedia friendly of the thinkpad line up.

Like I said...they can get expensive, but they have really good features...the active protection sys in there stops ur hard drive from spinning if it detects motion similar to a laptop being dropped...has a roll cage on the inside...new ones have drain holes on either side of the keyboard that protect against spill damage etc..

I know u said HP's are out of the question but the HP dv4000 is pretty good...

Ultimately, you have to be honest with yourself and consider you needs. Basically, what purpose will this laptop serve - internet/text, gaming, or media. Avoid listening to people with $2000 laptops.

Dell and HP arent "out of the question" ... just depends on what you wanna do with it. If its to take notes in class, or use MSWord to type homework, then those are more than sufficient .. heck, there are some really expensive badass Dell systems!

I have an Acer laptop http://www.acer.com Acer is ok its a lot more cheaper than other laptops and its okay so far so gd.

Acers work wonders. they are cheap !

it all depends.

for durability nothing beats an IBM thinpad. it just doesn't give you that ... aesthetic appeal. Heck the thinkpad of 1996 and the one of 2006 look the same.

What processors do you all recommend. I saw a sweet deal on this Satellite last week and I missed it. I keep kicking myself. I've been looking At Intel Core Duo Processor. What's comparable to that.

I really need a lappie. Real soon.
