Yes, Microsoft is in the Enterprise Application business. They also sell Supply Chain Mgmt and Financial Management software http://www.microsoft.com/dynamics/default.mspx
In comes c360 Solutions(http://www.c360.com). c360 makes add- on products to extend the Microsoft Functionality. For those evaluating CRM, please holler at me.

You were right the first time around. I have not sold Oracle yet. I sold PeopleSoft Enterprise Applications even though it is now an Oracle company.

Question fella's... my employer needs a CRM system, we are currently using Business contact manager but we need something a bit more robust. Microsoft is way out of our budgeted range...can you recommend a decent program that we dont need to subcribe {i.e salesforce..}to and its just for 3-5 users.
Thanks |

you may want to get sugar CRM. It is a small application and useful tool for small businesses and more importantly it is free.

Another significantly useful tool if you want to spend money without spending too much money is RightNow CRm, and their target is the sales and support market.

Not too well, I tried the plug in that integrates with outlook and I am not impressed. Its probably a good software but I couldn't get into it. I may end up using filemaker pro. My company throws a few large events every year that attracts a lot of corporate execs from fortune 500. The project that I am working on requires me to manage their contacts more effciently. So I need a software that will allow me to import all my contacts from outlook, and let me implement a smarter rollout i.e mass mailing, forecasting, marketing, sales etc... I have checked out salesforce but they are expensive, and the idea of sort of buying back my own information via subscription doesn't sit to well. I appreciate any feedbacks. |

Did you get a crack at RightNow ? They have a decent sales and marketing CRM application. I think another issue is determining what industry your are in, there are a host CRM applications that are industry specific. i know for one , Deltek, serves the Architectural, Engineering, and project centric market very well.
From your initial statement you may be nmore ocncerned with the contact management aspect that the full relationship module. If you have in house developers you can have them build something that suits your environment, or just make your life easier and set up a sharepoint server and have it import your contacts, with little overheas as per the sharepoing team services is free ( as at the last time I checked). One other paid solution that I can come up with for you is the http://www.evron.com/crm/act.asp ; a friend of mine recommended this a while a go so lets see how it goes. best of luck ad give soem feedback. The tech forum rocks Quote:
