Miss Plus Africa Pageant - Coming 2007

The Miss Plus Africa organization is seeking delegates for it’s 1st Annual Pageant in 2007. Our primary aim is to bring young women of African ancestry under one umbrella to create a platform for them to address issues affecting their communities, regions, countries and Africa as a whole. The organization also aims at highlighting the rich cultural background heritage of the various participating countries while placing great emphasis on African attributes and life style in those countries.

“It has been our dream to organize a pageant of this nature recognized and accepted by all Africans. The pageant was born out of an idea to recognize the unique features of the African woman who may have been disqualified in most beauty pageants based on her size. With this pageant, we intend to help the full figured African woman reclaim her self –esteem and to encourage her take positive steps leading to a healthier lifestyle.” says pageant founder Joi Onyeukwu.

The co-founding members of the organization are young women of African origin who have come together to as a team to work towards bringing pride to the African Diaspora. Participation in the pageant is open to any full figured woman of African origin regardless of her place of birth between the ages of 18 and 27, never married and never had a child. To be officially accepted candidates must meet the minimum eligibility requirements.
