Sorry Shayo. I used to think that my hair was getting a "Mama Iyabo" from all the braiding and pulling I put it through. But I got the courage and just cut it like Narnia did. When it started growing back, I stopped stressing it. I don't do styles that pull it back or anything... please, go to www.nappturality.com and you will see A LOT of styles for transitioning hair.... just like Sapphire said. Good luck Shayo

oh and i don't know if it helps, but i hear rubbing spirit on your edges helps the hair grow back.
Also deep condition your hair at least three times a week, it's a lot of work but trust me it works and use Soft & Beautiful Extend-A-Perm it's a non-chemical straightner for in between perms, i know you;re transitioning, but it will help your hair look and feel softer for easier styling

Eya...pele...sista mi.
Maybe ease up on the braiding for a little while or leave the edges out instead of braiding them. Sometimes too much braiding can be really hard on our hair. Also try massaging your temples with a very light oil every few days. I started using thing after my sister recommended it and it's helped with breakage and dryness. My hair is in much better shape after a few months of using it. I really like this product. Black n Sassy's Caribbean Creme ![]() |

Shayo, dnt get a perm oh..... you can easily regain those lost hairs once you keep up with your transition and fully start afresh
the good thing about being natural is that you do not need to put all these uneccassary elements that make the hair weak. We think the hair looks nice and straight and all but the truth is that you are damaging the hair and thin it out --dats why one constantly has to keep treating and treating permed hair like no man's business when i started going natural -- i noticed that my hair line started growing back --- all i do i condition very well, and make sure i grease my hair-line real good , all the time and when i braid, i tell them to allow my hairline a rest -- less tension in the braids i have seen the hair growing ack back for reals - Patience gurl - hang in there and u'll get used to it

the reason why she needs to stay away from perms is because her hair is extremely weak. perms dont weaken every body's hair. it depends on your hair type, what type of perm and how often. I perm my hair every 6 months. it doesnt break, it is longer and fuller than average. there are different hair grades. my hair doesnt stay straight when it gets hot outside. my perms ( march & september) the rest of the year my hair is blowdried out. right now the average temp here in Dubai is 120-130. my hair is airing out in the crazy heat and it is easy to keep up with a perm.

![]() nobody said she should stress her hair wib braids ..... they jus help the transition since she aint comfortable puttin her already short length out. The hairs will grow back once she is fully natural again ... the new growth will revamp the damaged ends and then she can stick to other natural hair styles
