Default Preventing Razor Bumps

What is the best aftershave to reduce the razor bumps? I've always had a smooth face till I started shaving last week. I used Brut splash on lotion but that ish didn't work. Now I use some other brand that claims to have moisturizers. After putting after shave, can you rub regular cream under your chin?HEEEELLLLPPPPPPPPPP

ps: This quesion is for only men who shave their face. Exceptions include beauty, ibo_made, and blckbyuty.

To understand your question, are you saying you never ever got shaving bumps until just last week or you shaved for the first time and got shaving bumps?
In general, most aftershaves arent for black skin types. The people I know who have this problem havent found an aftershave that works on them.
My brother has had this problem for a long time and he now uses this shaving cream that is for black men that is a major improvement. Give me a day or two to consult him on this.

ICN:

You should exfoliate on a regular basis and make sure the area your shaving is clean and use a new and sharp blade everytime you shave. Also you should consult with a dermatologist, it could be bacterial

exfoliate, for razor bumps? Razor bumps aren't caused by diesease, it is partly to do with the fact that black people have curly hair, when you shave and the hair starts growing back it can start curling under the skin(that is why alot of those electric shavers that "cut hair below the skin level" aren't really the best for black men. Sha, if peson too find solution to this so called plague, make una share, I too get small razor bumps.

ps: babyP icn na man(i think) that solution is alittle womanly. I also read the one about dry skin. mangoes and exfoliating and cucumbers and all sorts of stuff.

That is the exact problem by brother has. It isnt only his face & chin but also his hairline by his neck when he cuts his hair. My uncle who had this problem has reduced to using only scissors for his hair and his beard.
@ orege men cant use hair removal creams for their faces
@BP LIKE DC said, the curly hair thing also affects some women when they shave their bikini lines and it causes razor bumps too.

lol. Some guys manage to pull off the rugged look with it. My mum and I have been searching for a solution to the bumps on his neck cos that is the one that bothers him the most. Whenever I happened to be around, I cut the hair around his neck with manicure scissors. It is time consuming but it looks as good as
if I used clippers.
He used to try to maintain a slight tight beard not because he liked it but because shaving for him would cause all those bumps.
@ICN I will get you the shaving cream he now uses.

taco meat (the bumps on the back of your neck) is usually caused by dirty and dull clippers, and of course hair texture play into it as well. the reason I said exfoliate is because dirt can get trapped in your hair follicles and cause ingrown hairs. My solution is not meant for one specific sex, all humans have skin so my solutions are for the skin.

@vinyl
women really shouldn't shave the bikini area because of ingrown hairs, just suck it up and wax, it's not that painful when compared to ingrowns.

Yeah I know, that was my analogy to the situation with some black men shaving and getting bumps.

My people yours truly has suffered this yeye bump thing tire. And this Army people still dey force man pikin to shave. I don try everything and nothing on the market was made with the black man in mind. But me I don come up with home made remedy that clearly works better than anything on the market.

First of all, just give up on shaving with a blade. No shaving cream or after shave go help you. I use the clipper barbers use for your shape up ( Andis outliner) your local barber should be able to show you how they sharpen it. As for aftershave, rubbing alcohol 90%, the 70% stuff no dey work. Yes it will sting a little, but you are a man so deal.

exfoliate my head to remove dirt? So I've been wasting my time shampooing my head everyday? I don't think dirt blocking hair folicles is the problem, because the hair wouldn;t grow if the hole is blocked. Ingrown hair happens when you shave, you can't shave hair that isn't there, you can't get razor bumps is you don't shave anything. as for the dull clippers, well you might e right there, haven't really experienced "taco meat"
