How long is your hair? Have you cut it yet? I let my hair grow out for a couple of months and then I cut it and never looked back. I like to keep it short. Anyhow, check some other threads that have dealt with this and go to www.nappturality.com for some tips.

You dont have to cut it off immediately, you can grow out the perm first then cut it as you progress. The trick to making my hair manageable is 3 things conditon conditon condition. Without that my hair is as hard as aso rock.

You are joking right? I swear, since I cut my hair, it's become a big relief for me. I just wash and go. I wear what we call a "shake n go" kind of afro. It's so low maintenance it's not even funny. When I had a perm, I decided to stop one day. I grew out my hair for a few months, then I cut it. It was so freeing. No more relaxers or hiding from the rain or wrapping my hair at night or spending hours at the hair salon or any of the attendant ish that comes with permed hair

** Have shares in blue chips companies
** Wouldn't have to struggle in life

But my father didn't have the opportunity to steal otherwise I wouldn't be in diaspora searching for the proverbial green pastures.
