Ok
Ive been natural for like 5 years now ...but my hair is always in twists / braids ...combing is a battle ...I wanna get all Zara and start enjoying my Fro more ![]() Has any one tried this or heard about this natural curl product http://www.xenna.com/product_curlaway.html Aparently all the ingredients are natural ...and when u stop using it your fro goes wild again...so no chemical damage etc. I dont wanna use it to get the hair straight ...just to loosen the curls a little and b4 u come and talk about shea butter, coconut oil shampoo etc etc ...Ive tried all that and I still got hair like bride of Kunta Kinte. |

I'm wary of such products now. This summer I purchased this Miss Jessie's curly pudding that I saw in essence magazine. That stuff was horrible. It did nothing to my curls but made my hair very hard and brittle and very heavy. I have decided to just love my hair the way it is. All this curl definition, hair straightening stuff is not for me. If I wanted it, I'd just use a relaxer.
For that thing to make your hair silky straight with no heat, it's probably some type of relaxer. BTW, I couldn't help but notice that none of the b4 pictures look like mine. They all look either mixed or caucasian. |

girl, leave all that stuff alone. there is no "natural hair str8ner. these are all just ploys to get pple to drop money. read my post above re; the curly pudding .. thats another "natural product" that did nothing to loosen my curls. nothing can change the curl pattern of ur hair without the aid of some chemicals. so u either need to find a way to live with ur hair the way it is right now, or get a perm. there is no in-between. don't waste money on these yeye products. like sum1 said, if u notice the before and after lics, there are no dudu (blck) pple featured and the ones featured sef i am not sure if it really was the product that loosnened their hair or if they were aided by curling iron.. cuz in some of those pics, the hair looks too bone str8. either way, sumn ain't rite about the site or the product. looks like a scam to me. honey ur processes are wrong. my hair gets put in rollers first. it isnt that kinky, & then my hairdressers blow dries it. bcos of the rollers, the curls stay in. a press might not get ur hair straight enough, so u would want a good dominican blow dry. they can put the hair in rollers after so ur curls can stay. if u blow dry without rollers, ur hair will be limp! word of advice, if u will be blowdrying, make sure ur hair is well deep conditioned & ur ends are trimmed.
oh & curls from curling irons dont last long! which is why u have to do it over & over again! u are better off soft rolling ur hair in ur fingers & pinning it up & then pulling it out in the morning, than tryna use a curling iron! Personally i only wear my hair straight in the cold months. in the heat, i two strand twist or i just let it run wild! Make ur hair work for u! Quote:

hot combing- i dont hot comb. u blow dry with a hair brush! ur hair has to be well conditioned & has to have some leave in coditioner b4 blow drying. no my hair doesnt break neither does that of my GF's! u blow dry every week & a half.

As an alternative to pressing, I suggest using the Maxiglide, its on the expensive end, but works great and your hair reverts after you wash it. PLus with the money u spend getting it pressed or blown out, u can buy it and do it yourself.
