Nails

I've never gotten my nails done and I'm thinking of getting them this weeknd. i have a few questions that i hope can get answered before Saturday.

What do you call the "natural" looking type with white tip and pinkish nail?? Is that acrylics? i have to have them REALLY REALLY short. (I do labs wear I wear latex gloves and I don't want it breaking through)...will it still look cute if it only extends maybe a millimetter or 2 over the fingertip?

How long are they good for?

How do you remove them?

I am a SEVERE nail biter (down to the numb and sometimes more) am I at risk for infection or a poor nail job? I also have cuts near the cuticle from my cuticle trimmer,paper cuts, etc. Am I risking infection?

french manicure...u can get em with ur own nails...
i've had acrylic for months.....they weaken ur nails..

i take them off for like 2 wks after 2 month( get refills every 2 wks). and damn r my nails so weak and soft...any small thing would break them and i would go get d acrylics back out of annoyance....
its up to u.
u need a disolver to take em off. not an easy task taking them off so i have dem chinco ppl take em off....

I'm a nail biter. i seriously have NO nails whatsoever....(it's better than smoking, right?) ....

ppl have diff opinions...
i usually get round..more natural..
if u have no nails..acrylic izit then cos u dont wanna "french manicure" ur skin

they r cute tho...they just weaken ur nails

How do they weaken the nail? on the bed or on the tip? Cuz I have no tip to worry about.

Is the acrylic hot?

i'm scared they'll put the white tip part directly on my skin since my nails are so short.

speaking of which..i have a hospital rotation in a few months....i hope they let us wear gloves or at least keep our nails kempt

the nail itself....seriously i had my own nail chipped like half way....
lolll..acrylic is not hot..no pain watsoever...

And how long does it generally take to apply?

So you say they last 2 weeks? then you have to repair them? Is that still full cost?

i would say about 30-45mins with ur french manicure..
well mine lasts 2 weeks b4 i would require a fill-in...
no not full price. I pay $20 for that. Some ppl say they pay $15

I really bite the hell out of my nails....sometimes they bleed. What kind of craziness is that?

i'm scared the lady will take one look at them and throw me out.

well maybe getting d acrylics is a good idea...trust me u cant bite on acrylic except if u have razor teeth...
nah she wont throw u out....

My nails are bad! Not as bad as this pic (thank God) but still pretty bad.
